Learning to Delight in His Law

Tomorrow is Friday, marking the start of SPRING BREAK! =D (if you could only see the joy on this face!!)

So, I would like to briefly share the scripture that God has been writing upon my heart this week. Proverbs 7:1, 2, 5b "My son [/daughter], keep my words and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live. And my law as the apple of your eye. That they may keep you from [immorality]"

It is so easy to get swept away with the "things of this world". That sounds churchy, so let me explain, it's so easy, for me at least, to let the materialistic, selfish elements of my daily life control my thoughts, my time and essentially my entire day. Its so easy to get swept up in trying to look pretty or whatever and realize that I spent more time picking out a shirt than reading the Bible this morning. It is SO easy to let the things that DO NOT even matter to take up time in my life. Day by day, as I started having less time to read the Bible and pray this week, I realized that I moving farther and farther from God. Farther from God's will and His desires for my life and more and more closer to self-centeredness. More and more into what I wanted, my pleasures, my desires. And I have realized time and time again, that my desires..stink. I love when John the Baptist says ' He must increase and I must decrease" J.B. got it! Life is better lived when the focus is on Him and what He will and desires, and the focus shifts from us and what we want. Prov. 7:2 "Keep my commands and live". Do you want to live? I mean really live? live in abundance? Keep His commands.

This Book, that we called the BIBLE, has upon its pages the instructions and the directions from God for us. for our daily walk in this world. And we will never discover all the wonderful things our Heavenly Father desires for us, if we don't mediate upon this Word. Ps 1:2-3 [Blessed is the man whose] delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. [3] He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.." I will never forsake the sins in my life, never forsake immorality, if I do not have God's Word in me. "My son [/daughter], keep my words and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live. And my law as the apple of your eye. That they may keep you from [immorality]"

So, come with me this week and the week after and the next after that, as I walk with God. As I find my life again in Christ again, forsaking all that is "me" and becoming more like Him. As I start spending more time in God's Word. Come with me. Let's start at the basics and start delighting in His law.

I better get back to studying. Have a blessed weekend!

In Christ's prefect love,
Sheba
