You've got mail

I was just looking at my email inbox, filled with all kinds of mail: coupons from Bath and Body and Express and other stores I rarely shop at, junk mail from college, updates from church, old fb comments ect. And amid all those, is a particular email. Its the one that confirms my admission. When I first found out that I got in, after checking the email and jumping for joy in all the mix, I had to go back and check and make sure I wasn't just dreaming it all. For days after actually, I kept going back and making sure. And today, I went back, and checked. Just for old time sake, just to make sure that it's still there, that it's still true. I opened it up and all I could think is- I never thought I'd see the day. Because aside from all the anticipation and all the commotion of an acceptance, my heart was longing to see the day God would fulfilled a promise to me.

When I graduated from high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. No idea. So, I started to pray. And particularly asked my pastor to pray for me and with me on what God wanted me to do with my life. So one day, as my pastor was praying with me and my family, he got a word of wisdom and told me what God wanted to do through my life. And where He wanted to take me. And today as I look at that email, I remember the God of the Bible who gave not only a word of deliverance to the Israelites, but gave the Deliverer. I remember that He is the one who reigns. He is the sovereign God who is in control of our lives. Even when we are in the middle of a storm, even when we can't see Him or hear Him or understand why and how. Even then, He is a God who keeps His word. [1 Thessalonians 5:24 "Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass."]

When I look at that email in my inbox, I am reminded that God is my Father. My Father keeps His promise. Always. It's just the matter of hearing Him speak and listening to Him and trusting Him. (but not to worry, because I failed on all those areas. My Heavenly Father is STILL teaching me to open my ears, be still, and listen to Him and rely on Him. And I suspect its going to be an ongoing process.) Be encouraged friend, He is your Father and your Friend. And He will guide you through wherever you are in life and He will whisper His promises to you. He loves you, unconditionally.

  1. Thanks Aritiono for your comment. And thank you for reading my post. In the Bible, Jesus said in John 14:6 that He "is the way the truth, and the life". Jesus is the Son of God and He is the way. The only way to heaven. Please, pick up the Bible and read it. Jesus loves you, dearly.
